In the presence of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Naema Allah, Acting President of New Cairo Technological University, and Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdel Malak Mikhael, Vice President for Academic Affairs, the first workshop was held in collaboration with the German University in Cairo under the title “German and Egyptian Vocational and Technical Education.”

The workshop began with a visit to the workshops and laboratories at the German University, followed by an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo. This was followed by a lecture from Prof. Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education, on the education system at the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.

Ms. Kristine Faenger, representing the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany (I Move), spoke about developing employment and competencies through vocational training. The President of New Cairo Technological University expressed the university’s interest in establishing and developing programs based on the German education and training system to prepare graduates for work in Egypt and Europe through partnerships with German universities.

In this regard, Dr. Philipp Schlenkhoff, representing the German company LD DIDACTI, expressed his pleasure with this partnership and confirmed that he would present the matter to the German partners.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants visited DMG Mori at the German University to discuss collaboration in training New Cairo Technological University students. It was agreed to organize successive visits for students in the Mechatronics Technology program to the DMG Mori workshops and laboratories at the German University, where qualified students will be selected for practical training to become specialists and highly skilled professionals in the field.
