As part of enhancing the skills and proficiency of students at New Cairo Technological University, and under the supervision and patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Naema Allah, Acting President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdel Malak Mikhael, Vice President of the University, the university conducted an English language placement test for students.
The test was administered by Dr. Dina Sayed Nasr, English Lecturer at the university, and Dr. Sally Mohamed Attia, English Teaching Assistant. Dr. Sally explained that the purpose of the test was to determine students’ levels in General English, as the university relies primarily on English in all its departments. The test included two components: oral skills and grammar.
The results revealed varying levels of English proficiency among general secondary school students and technical education students. Accordingly, students were divided into three levels (Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3) to help improve their language skills. This initiative reflects New Cairo Technological University’s commitment to enhancing students’ English proficiency through its academic programs.
